Briefly, Reiki is a system re-discovered in the 1870’s by Dr Mikao Usui, it is a method for restoring natural balance between our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual selves. By bringing ourselves into homeostasis, we align our “rei” or soul with the “ki” or energy, and depending on your preference that energy flows from the Source, the Universal Life Energy, Cosmic Energy or Sacred Spirit. However you choose to label the Source of the Universal Energy is dependent on your personal belief system and unimportant to the application of Reiki. By allowing ourselves to balance our “souls” and align with this Universal Source we allow it’s Love to flow through us and aid us in maintaining our health by clearing away blocked and stored negative energies within our bodies. Reiki works intrinsically with each person, sustaining and strengthening individual characteristics.
